Wilkshire Golf Course Under New Ownership
Local entrepreneur invests in preserving heritage of Northeast Ohio course
BOLIVAR, OH (June 3, 2021) – Wilkshire Golf Course in Bolivar is now owned and operated by Zoar View Wilkshire LLC., the company announced today. The 182-acre, 18-hole Golf course in Tuscarawas County will remain an operating golf course in the tradition of the 50-years of prior operation by the Easterday family.
Local entrepreneurs Kyle and Samantha Quillen stepped in to purchase the course and preserve its heritage. Today it is under new ownership and open for business.
“Wilkshire Golf Course has been a community treasure for decades. It’s where I grew up learning the sport,” Owner Kyle Quillen said. “We have many unforgettable memories here and we want our son to grow up with the same amazing experiences. We’re excited about this opportunity to ensure the future of the course for our family and the entire community.”
Quillen is the former founder of Agile Networks in Canton Ohio. Samantha is a graduate of Tusky Valley High School and a Nurse practitioner at Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital. Upon purchase of the golf course, the new ownership group is keeping the team in place to preserve operations while drafting plans to make future investments that continue to enhance one of the most scenic and challenging golf experiences in Northeastern Ohio.
Shelby Thompson will continue her role as Manager and resident Golf Pro, and Nate Heller will continue his role as Superintendent in charge of course maintenance. Eric Crone of Zoar Golf Course will act as a maintenance consultant to ensure the quality of the course is continuously improving, and Vince Little will become Wilkshire’s General Manager effective July 2, 2021.
“Our vision is to make this area a destination for great golf and entertainment,” Little said. “Exit 93 has two beautiful courses in Wilkshire and Zoar with rolling terrain and tree-lined fairways. We hope to both preserve the history and improve the experience for golfers across Ohio for years to come.”
